Test Automation Engineer

We are looking for an Test Automation Engineer with a minimum experience of 2+ years in automation testing. The applicant must possess strong background in Automating Scripts for web based applications and API’s. Primary responsibilities include planning, scripting and execution of a variety of key customer-facing software products. Should be dedicated, self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including platforms and architectures. The individual will work closely with developers, project managers and other stakeholders and should have a strong understanding of SDLC and STLC processes and the QA methodology.

Responsibilities

• Manual and automated software testing in a web based product development environment.
• Understanding of functional documents provided by the internal team.
• Estimation of tasks.
• Identifying test scenarios, development of test cases.
• Release based Functional and Regression testing based on test cases written.
• Defect reporting and follow up to close the defects
• Close interaction with the development team and timely closure of defects reported.
• Participation in client meetings and review sessions.
• Ensuring adherence to Quality management, Quality process and standards, documentation
• Providing prompt customer support and timely resolution of support calls.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years of experience in manual testing of which at least 2+ years in Automation of web applications
• Automation testing in QTP/UFT or Selenium is desired.
• Sound knowledge of STLC, software testing methodologies and procedures
• Sound understanding and developing/executing test cases in an application development environment
• Hands on in Automation tools like UFT/Selenium and hands-on scripting in VBScript or Java is a plus
• Defect reporting using any of the defect tracking tools.
• Good communication skills and a team player spirit
